Fuel Surcharge Decrease to Level 11 (28/09/2006)

British Airways World Cargo today announced a decrease to its fuel surcharge. The surcharge will be GBP0.37/kg / USD0.55/kg / EUR0.55/kg, with effect from 12 October 2006.

The fuel surcharge decrease follows a second consecutive week that the fuel index has been below the level 11 threshold. The index was developed by BA World Cargo to provide customers with more information about the calculation of fuel surcharges. It is updated on a weekly basis and posted on the British Airways World Cargo website.

Chris Bosworth, General Manager Commercial Development said: "High fuel prices remain a very real challenge for the industry. However, recent weeks have seen some relief with prices falling, triggering a decrease in our fuel surcharge. This brings a welcome respite to the industry, even though costs remain close to an all time high."
